Back-to-Back Home Defeats Leave Sandefjord in Relegation Battle
Sandefjord Fotball have suffered consecutive Eliteserien losses at Jotun Arena, going down 0–3 to Bodø/Glimt on 26 July and 0–1 to KFUM Oslo on 7 August. The results leave the club 13th in the table with a demanding home schedule still to come. Only goal difference separates Sandefjord from the bottom two.
Back-to-Back Home Defeats Deepen Sandefjord's Troubles
Jotun Arena has been the scene of back-to-back Eliteserien defeats for Sandefjord Fotball, with the club now sitting 13th in the Norwegian top flight on 15 points after 16 matches played. The most recent setback came against KFUM Oslo on 7 August, a 0–1 loss that followed hard on the heels of a 0–3 hammering at the hands of Bodø/Glimt on 26 July.
The defeat to Glimt was witnessed by a large Jotun Arena crowd, with 3,500 tickets sold in advance of the match — a sign of the local support the club commands even in difficult times.
Glimt Too Strong, KFUM Complete a Painful Week
Bodø/Glimt, one of the dominant forces in Norwegian football in recent seasons, proved too strong for Sandefjord on home soil, running out convincing 3–0 winners at the 7,200-capacity arena. Less than two weeks later, KFUM Oslo — themselves sitting 12th in the table — compounded the misery with a 1–0 win in the Folkets Kamp fixture, played in front of a packed and vocal home crowd.
The two results have put pressure on Sandefjord heading into what promises to be a demanding autumn schedule, with only goal difference separating them from 14th-placed Kristiansund.
A Tough Autumn Road Ahead
Despite the recent dip, Jotun Arena will continue to be a busy venue in the months ahead. Sandefjord host SK Brann on 30 August, before welcoming Viking, Lillestrøm, Molde, Tromsø, and Vålerenga in a demanding run of home fixtures stretching through to December.
With the gap between safety and the relegation zone likely to remain tight, converting Jotun Arena back into a genuine home advantage will be central to Sandefjord's survival ambitions for the rest of the 2026 Eliteserien season.
