Folkets Kamp: Eliteserien Football for 19 Kroner at Jotun Arena
Sandefjord Fotball invited supporters into Jotun Arena for just 19 kroner — the booking fee alone — for their Eliteserien clash with KFUM Oslo on 7 August. The 'People's Match' initiative drew a crowd, but the hosts fell to a 1–0 defeat, leaving the club in 13th place and in need of points from their nine remaining home games.
The Cheapest Top-Flight Ticket in Norway?
Sandefjord Fotball turned heads across Norwegian football earlier this month when they opened the gates of Jotun Arena to essentially anyone willing to pay the booking fee. Their home Eliteserien fixture against KFUM Oslo on 7 August — branded Folkets Kamp, or 'The People's Match' — was made available for just 19 kroner per ticket.
The promotion was designed to pack the stands and strengthen the bond between the club and the wider Sandefjord community. Tickets were sold through the SF App and the club's official website.
The Result on the Night
Unfortunately for the supporters who streamed through the turnstiles at a bargain price, the result did not match the occasion. KFUM Oslo left Jotun Arena with a 1–0 win, a defeat that extended a difficult run of form for Sandefjord in Eliteserien.
The team currently sits 13th in the table with 18 points from 17 matches, and the pressure is mounting ahead of a demanding home run that includes fixtures against Brann, Viking, Lillestrøm, Molde, Tromsø and Vålerenga before the season closes in December.
Autumn Fortress Mentality Required
Jotun Arena will need to become a genuine stronghold if Sandefjord are to pull clear of relegation trouble. The fixture list shows nine remaining home games at the stadium, giving the club ample opportunity to bank points in front of their own supporters on the artificial surface in Sandefjord.
The Folkets Kamp initiative, despite the disappointing scoreline, demonstrated the club's ambition to grow its fanbase and create a louder, more vibrant atmosphere at Jotun Arena — an atmosphere they will be counting on when Brann arrive on 30 August.
