Record Cup Win Sets the Stage for Brann Showdown at Jotun Arena
Sandefjord Fotball head into Sunday's Eliteserien home clash against Brann on the back of a record-breaking 15–0 Norwegian Cup win. Kick-off at Jotun Arena is at 17:00 on 30 August, with the club urging fans to buy tickets early.
A Record Night in the Cup
Sandefjord Fotball travelled to Eidangerbanen on Sunday 23 August and returned with a scoreline that will go down in the club's history books. The first-round Norwegian Cup tie finished 15–0 — a new club record — and the mood around Jotun Arena has not dimmed since.
The emphatic victory handed the squad a significant confidence boost ahead of one of the most anticipated home fixtures of the season.
Brann Head to Sandefjord on Sunday
All eyes now turn to Jotun Arena, where Brann visit on Sunday 30 August at 17:00 for an Eliteserien clash the club has already billed as a storkamp — a big match. The club's official channels have urged supporters to secure their tickets without delay, with demand expected to be high.
The timing could hardly be more important. Sandefjord currently sit 13th in the Eliteserien table with 18 points from 17 matches, and three points at home against one of Norway's most recognised clubs would be a major lift in what promises to be a decisive autumn run-in.
A Packed Autumn Schedule at Jotun Arena
The Brann fixture is just the opening act. Jotun Arena is set to host a further string of Eliteserien fixtures running deep into winter, with Viking, Start, Lillestrøm, Molde, Tromsø and Vålerenga all still to come. The stadium — which holds 7,200 spectators and plays on an artificial surface — will be a focal point of Sandefjord's push to climb the table.
After the sold-out Folkets Kamp atmosphere earlier this month, the club will be hoping the Brann visit draws another packed and vocal crowd to fuel the team through a crucial stretch of the campaign.
