Sandefjord Fotball's heavily promoted 'People's Match' against KFUM Oslo on 7 August drew fans to Jotun Arena with near-free tickets, but the home side fell to a 0–1 defeat. The result leaves Sandefjord 13th in the Eliteserien table with nine crucial home games still to play.

Despite the electric atmosphere generated by the Folkets Kamp promotion — which brought supporters through the Jotun Arena turnstiles for as little as 19 kroner — Sandefjord Fotball could not deliver the result their fans had hoped for. The Eliteserien clash ended in a 0–1 defeat to KFUM Oslo on 7 August, leaving the club in the lower half of the table.
The result means Sandefjord have now suffered nine defeats from their opening 17 league matches, sitting 13th in the Eliteserien standings with 18 points to their name.
A Season of Contrasts
The defeat at home to KFUM Oslo was sandwiched between two away fixtures that told a very different story. Sandefjord had earlier lost 1–0 at Fredrikstad on 1 August, before bouncing back impressively with a 2–1 victory away at Sarpsborg 08 on 16 August — a result the club described as the product of an extraordinary team effort.
With Jotun Arena about to host Brann on 30 August and Viking on 4 September, the pressure is on for Sandefjord to convert their home ground into a genuine fortress as the season enters its critical autumn phase.
Nine Home Games to Define the Season
Sandefjord Fotball still have nine home matches remaining at Jotun Arena in the 2026 Eliteserien season, including fixtures against Brann, Viking, Start, Lillestrøm, Molde, Tromsø and Vålerenga. Those games represent the club's clearest route to climbing the table and securing their top-flight status.
With the academy sides also providing positive news — the G16 squad reaching the quarterfinals of the Norwegian Championship and the G14 team hammering Molde 7–2 at Jotun Arena — there is no shortage of football being played at the ground. The arena remains at the very heart of the club's ambitions this season.
