Folkets Kamp Fills Jotun Arena — But KFUM Oslo Spoil the Party
Sandefjord Fotball's bold 19-kroner ticket promotion packed Jotun Arena for Friday's Eliteserien clash against KFUM Oslo. The atmosphere was there, but the result was not: Sandefjord fell 1–0, leaving the club to reflect on a painful home defeat despite record accessibility for fans.
A Near-Sellout at Jotun Arena
Sandefjord Fotball's 'Folkets Kamp' promotion — which offered supporters entry to Friday's Eliteserien home clash against KFUM Oslo for just 19 kroner, the cost of the booking fee alone — succeeded in drawing a packed crowd to Jotun Arena on 7 August 2026.
The initiative was one of the most affordable top-flight football ticket offers seen in Norway this season, and the appetite it generated among local supporters was unmistakable.
The Match Ended in Heartbreak
Despite the electric atmosphere created by the near-capacity crowd, Sandefjord fell to a 1–0 defeat against KFUM Oslo. It was a bitter pill for fans who had turned out in large numbers to back their side in what the club had billed as a community celebration of football.
The result extended Sandefjord's difficult run of form. The club currently sit 13th in the Eliteserien table with 18 points from 17 matches, and the defeat to KFUM Oslo added to a sequence that shows four losses in their last five league outings.
The Bigger Picture: A Long Autumn Ahead
The Folkets Kamp match was always intended as more than just a one-off promotional stunt. With nine home games remaining at Jotun Arena between now and December, the club is clearly looking to harness home support as a crucial weapon in what promises to be a demanding second half of the season.
Upcoming home fixtures include a clash against Brann on 30 August, followed by Viking, Lillestrøm, Molde, Tromsø, and Vålerenga. The 7,200-capacity stadium will need to roar again — and soon — if Sandefjord are to climb the table and ease relegation concerns.
What Comes Next
Despite the defeat, the Folkets Kamp concept demonstrated that Sandefjord Fotball can fill Jotun Arena when given the right incentive. The challenge for the club now is to maintain that momentum on the terraces and, crucially, on the pitch — starting with the visit of Brann at the end of the month.
