Sold-Out Jotun Arena Not Enough as KFUM Oslo Stun Sandefjord 1–0
A packed Jotun Arena witnessed Sandefjord Fotball's second consecutive home defeat on 7 August, falling 1–0 to KFUM Oslo in Eliteserien. The loss drops Sandefjord to 13th in the table, piling pressure on the squad ahead of a tough autumn schedule. Back-to-back home reverses have left the club fighting to arrest a damaging slide at their own ground.
A Sold-Out Jotun Arena Falls Silent After Defeat
Sandefjord Fotball's highly anticipated home clash against KFUM Oslo on 7 August drew a packed crowd to Jotun Arena — the club's official sources described a "fantastisk ramme" (fantastic atmosphere) generated by a sold-out stadium. Despite the electric backdrop, the evening ended in disappointment as KFUM Oslo left Sandefjord with a 1–0 victory, a result that continued a difficult run for the hosts.
The defeat leaves Sandefjord 13th in the Eliteserien table with 15 points from 16 matches, level with Kristiansund directly below them in 14th place.
Back-to-Back Home Losses Pile on the Pressure
The KFUM defeat followed hard on the heels of a 3–0 home drubbing at the hands of Bodø/Glimt on 26 July, also at Jotun Arena. That result, in front of a crowd boosted by over 3,500 pre-sold tickets, underlined the quality gap between Sandefjord and the league's top sides this season.
Back-to-back home losses have put real pressure on the squad ahead of what is a demanding autumn fixture list. Brann visit on 30 August, followed by Viking on 4 September — two more stern tests at Jotun Arena.
Autumn Run to Define Sandefjord's Season
With home dates against Lillestrøm, Molde, Tromsø and Vålerenga still to come, Jotun Arena will be a focal point of Sandefjord's survival push through the final months of the 2026 Eliteserien campaign. The stadium's artificial turf surface — 105 metres by 68 metres — has traditionally been an advantage for the home side, and the club will be desperate to rediscover that edge before the season slips away.
